Our Team

In November 2019, Ben felt the Lord calling him to plant a church and in January 2017 people began gathering in his home for Bible study. As a result, Cornerstone Church Ministries was born - officially launching August 12, 2018 - and has seen rapid growth as it has began laying its foundation in the community. A discipleship focused and service-oriented church unbound by the 4 walls of a building, Cornerstone is poised to be a catalyst for change - existing solely to see lives changed, communities transformed, and the world revolutionized by the good news of Jesus as we love God and love people. 

Having grown up in Deer Park, Ben is a part of the graduating class of 2003. He just celebrated his 11th wedding anniversary with his high school sweetheart, Sharla, and together they have 4 kids: Autumn, Jackson, Ezra, and Levi.

Together they have a love for our community, are missions-minded, and have a heart for serving everyone - especially those on the fringes of society, in pursuit of fulfilling the Great Commission. Ben is a member of the Deer Park Volunteer Fire Department - serving as a firefighter and chaplain, currently enrolled at Southwestern Theological Seminary as he pursues a Master of Divinity with a concentration in Biblical Counseling. He loves spending time with his family, enjoys hunting, and being with friends.
